Viña Tipaume is located in Rengo, in the Cachapoal Valley, Chile. It is a small family winery where we produce organic and biodynamic wines in very limited quantities.
The name Tipaume comes from the Tipaume Estuary, a small watercourse that borders the property where the vineyard is located. The word has its origin in Mapudungun and means “place of departure”.
The winery was founded by Yves Pouzet and Valentina Grez, who developed this family project with the idea of producing authentic wines, respecting nature and the character of the place.
Our wines are produced in very small quantities, with manual labor in the vineyard and minimal intervention in the winery, seeking to express the character of the terroir and each vintage.
Our production is very limited. Some harvests reach around 1,000 to 1,500 bottles, which makes each wine a very special edition.
It means that we grow the vines without chemical pesticides or herbicides and by following agricultural principles that seek to maintain the natural balance of the soil and the vineyard's ecosystem.
We primarily work with Carménère, an emblematic Chilean grape variety that adapts very well to the Cachapoal Valley terroir.
